I'm Melissa and it's a pleasure to meet my readers. So let's see... I have the heart and soul of a Beat poet. I live in a world all my own. A rather magical one, might I add! I have a riveting and ravishing romance with words. I'm a writer and I dedicate a lot of my soul to poetry and prose. Edgar Allan Poe is an absolute dream to me and John Keats' "Ode on Melancholy" is where my username derives from. I even named my Labrador mix after the first. Well, Edgar Winter in a way after considering his golden coat. It works though since I'm also passionate about Poe. My dog certainly doesn't act like him... he has more of the personality of a rocker who trashes hotel rooms. Janis Joplin and Simon & Garfunkel are my musical loves. I get a real kick out of the old-fashioned value. Movie stars, television sets, turntables, bookshelves, picture frames, you name it, I fancy it! In fact, I have a passion for so many eras you'd believe me to be a time traveler.
I've recently been to NYC for my first and hopefully not my last time. It was astounding! All of the creativity and diversity of the people played a big part in my initial love for the city. "How much for this orange?" a young girl with a British accent asked the fruit vendor. Ahhhh, a little ripe slice of heaven in the city of dreams and dwelling of dreamers.
